Experience-based Design Optimization
ADMS Design AB developed its Experience-based Design Optimization (EDO) methodology as a means to optimize design and accurately predict performance and design limits. EDO use massive amounts of empirical data in order to make informed design decisions based on the collective body of experimental experience rather than on theoretical models that may or may not be representative of real-world design challenges. EDO allows multiple architectures and design solutions to be evaluated, initially without making a single prototype. The principle is to systematically reuse the entire body of results reported from prototypes and parts developed and paid for by others. The lead time and cost for exploring alternative solutions early in the project is therefore reduced to a fraction of what it is when making your own test designs. It also allows the design space to be thoroughly investigated before locking the project onto a specific architecture and starting to design.
If you want to know more about EDO, you are welcome to contact us, or to check out the EDO introduction document.
Optimize for anything
Using our EDO approach, it becomes possible to optimize the design for a variety of targets. High-volume parts for consumer electronics may require the smallest possible chip area for a given specification, while circuits for handheld could be optimized for the lowest possible power dissipation at a given performance target. ADMS Design AB also offer to do Green Circuit Optimization (GCO), which minimizes the total environmental impact accumulated throughout the entire circuit lifecycle – from manufacturing to end-of-life.
